Ascension Day through the Weerribben-Wieden.

During the Ascension weekend we sail with the clipper Engelburg through the Weerribben-Wieden National Park. Discover the beauty of this area by sailing, rowing or on foot, and sleep in your own bed on board the Engelburg in the evening, where the meal is also ready. We moor somewhere else every evening, so that day trips do not lead back to the starting point and you can cross the entire area in a few days. Make use of our canoes, sailing boat or whisper boat, or go on foot, and discover a new part of the versatile nature every day.

See you then! Joost and Evelien

Thu 29 May. We leave on Ascension Day around 12 o'clock from the Zwarte Water quay in Hasselt, and then sail via Zwartsluis and the Beukerssluis to the Beltewijde. This lake is very suitable for sailing, and several canoe routes start here.

Fr 30 May. The next day, we sail with the Engelburg to Muggenbeet, on the other side of the Wieden, near the Giethoorn Lake. This route is very suitable for sailing or canoeing, but it's also beautiful to walk via Belt-Schutsloot. It is possible to take a tour boat from the Visitor Center in Sint Jansklooster to Blokzijl and walk the final stretch to Muggenbeet from there.

Sat 31 May Today we go straight through the Weerribben, towards Ossenzijl. Because the ditches here are too small and the bridges too low, we have to sail around the Engelburg, but by canoe or on foot this is a very beautiful part of the Netherlands.

Sun 1 June. On the final day, we sail back to Hasselt with the Engelburg. This journey takes a little over 4 hours, and with favorable winds, we hope to sail part of the way. We expect to arrive back in Hasselt around 4 p.m.

Registration is possible per person, but also with more. There are 2 double bedrooms and 1 four-person, more information about the ship can be found here.

Costs for the entire weekend are 325 Euro per person. This includes use of our two Canadian canoes, sailboat and whisper boat, fuel and crew for outward and return journey, coffee, tea and water are provided, breakfast and dinner. All beds are made. Bring your own towel.

Soft drinks, wine and beer are available on board, for a daily rate.
